Do you often seek solace in silence?

Hmmmmm...... I have two answers for this. Can I give them both?

First.
There is a certain level of silence that scares me to death. When I haven't heard from someone I get frightened that something is wrong or that they are sad or that their thoughts are in a place where they need some distance. That is that "unknown" silence..... the kind that makes you paranoid. The silence that you don't understand.

Then....
There is the comforting silence. Where you can sit in the same room with someone knowing everything is fine..... everything is as it should be..... no worries....... pure solace. Just knowing the other person is there is comfort enough. No words have to pass.... no touches..... because there is just a knowledge that hangs in the silence. It is perfection.

I actually had to look up the word "silence" in that there Wikkipedia thing because I had forgotten what it meant. I have not had any in almost 17 years. . . . .Can I buy some at Wal-Mart?

I love silence. I look for a little of it each day, though someday's it's not that easy.
