He needs a walker to get to first base.
He's older than Shea stadium.
He used to go to school with Babe Ruth.
He's so grey that he blends in with the AWAY uniforms.
He's so old, his grandchildren have grandchildren.
He's played in the Old Timer's game 15 times already.
He remembers what a Ballantine Blast was.

Where are you getting your info from? I just checked MLB.Com and Yahoo Sports, both still list Franco w/ the Mets. He is hitting just .200, so being released would not be a surprise.

As a Braves fan, I'm hoping Atlanta signs him on as a conditioning coach. He's in better shape than most of the younger players and could whip the entire team into shape.

Franco has had way too many chances in big spots this year, and come away with nothing. His bat moves almost as slow as he does.

Because he sucks. His age is finally showing. I hope the Braves pick him up in some capacity. Not necessarily as a player but just have him as a coach.

Because he is very close to qualifying for Social Security so why keep putting yourself through grinding baseball seasons when the government will pay for you to sit around in your Rascal all day long?

He is 48 years old and his time has come. I also really believe he will stay with the team in some capacity.
