I have a wireless router and no matter what I do it goes on and offline,I want to take it off my PC but I can't get a connection without the damn thing hooked up...Why can't I hook my Cable modem up straight like I did before I had the router?Someone help please.I am annoyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well ... many cable companies assign dynamic ip adresses and u would have to plug the cable in and wait awhile until u got a new one .. maybe up to an hour ... as far as the router goes i would say it may need a firmware upgrade which u could do from within its settup page ... or possibly ur wireless adapters settings need to be tweaked to match the routers or viceverca ..

if you were able to connect to the net before, then call your routher product company for tech support.
