Since the Dems have had control of congress, what have they accomplished? Nothing… They’ve done absolutely nothing. Have they tried to fulfill their campaign promises of pulling the troops out of Iraq? No. They have not even put forth more than a superficial effort to set time tables. The truth of the matter is, if Dems win the white house (they already have congress), they will not pull our troops out of Iraq. It will not happen. Why? Because if we left right now, you would see an ethnic cleansing at an unprecedented level followed by the collapse of the new government and Iraq would become another “Warlord” state. We would have to go back in ten years and clean up the mess. Do you realize we still have military forces in Japan, in Germany, and in Korea? Wars are easy. We won the war. “Mission accomplished,” but it is the peace that is hard.

This is a stupid question for a variety of reasons.

1. The question implies that both are bad. In fact, there are reasons to think that neither is bad and they both may be quite good. The Republicans did some really shitty things with their power and deserve to lose it. Also, there are experts who actually study Iraq, and don't get their opinions from the Bush political machine, and many of them are cool with pulling out. See the congressional testimony of General Odom.

2. There is another assumption in the question: you imply that the Democrats will win the Presidency (and have won Congress) solely based on the war. This is untrue. Was I the only one watching the exit polls? Voters said the most important issue driving them toward the Democrats was not the War (it was number 2). What was number one? You guessed it: CORRUPTION among Republicans.

3. And finally, you imply that these are the only options. Perhaps you only listen to what political pundits SAY the Democrats are proposing rather than what they actually are. Most Democrats in Washington support a phased withdrawal plan. NOT pulling them out all at once and right away.

Might as well have been honest and said that you just hate everything Democrat.

It does not matter if the "Dems" gain control cause "Republicans" have the same agenda; global socialist government. Our troops will never leave Iraq because it's far to profitable for the power elite to propagate war and control resources. All those political labels are meant to keep us fighting amongst our selves so that we are blind to the real threats to our individual freedoms (Divide and conquer). G.W. Bush is just a charismatic figure head a despot if you will. Quit bashing the poor guy he's just doing what he's told.
