My brother is getting a 1996 Mercury Mystique Spree to take to college with him. It's got a 2.5L v6, and it's automatic. Red exterior, gray cloth interior.
He's getting it free, since it's a hand me down from our aunt. It's only got 77,000 miles on it, but I usually see women driving them, and my other brother said it's a girls car. Just the name makes me think girls car "mystique spree"
Don't get me wrong, it's fast, it gets up to speed in no time. I wouldn't mind using it myself, I just was wondering if anyone else felt it was a girls car????
Me, I drive a Ford Probe, an 86 porsche 944 red with black leather, 62,000 miles, and 5 speed. I'm taking a 2000 Mercury grand marquis to college-by no means a girls car
SO yeah, is the mystique a girls car? It's the same as the ford contour, just seems like it has a gayer name

your ford probe, was called by my kid a girls car. It was given to him to drive sell etc. He sold it,bought a truck.
There is a **** for every saddle*, your brother should just saddle up and drive the merc. and enjoy the free car.

I'm a male, and had a Mystique like that one for years. I lived to talk about it, too. Plenty of males drive Contours and Mystiques. And yes, with the 2.5 V6, they are surprisingly quick, handle well and get decent fuel mileage.
I'd certainly rather drive that than your Grand Marquis anyday. And it's free? He should kiss his aunt and say thank you very much.

Enjoy the free car, and blow the doors off Civics at stoplights.
Go to Contour.org and see what performance parts you can add to it. Surprise the heck out of the riceburners.

yeah it looks like a contour just yeah it does have a gay name if anyone asks what car you drive just say a contour.
