There is no "war on Terrorism"--except for Bush's propaganda.

There's the war in Iraq. But Iraq never attacked us and had no links to terrorists.
There's al-Qaida--but as the most recent news has confirmed, Bush hasn't been making any effort to go after them.
etc., etc., etc.

We should be going after the terrorists, whether you call it a "war" or whatever. The thing that would keep me up at night: that's not happening.

Your question is one of the very, very few that implicitly recognizes that the public does not know all the secrets government officials must bear, and hence the reason for their seemingly illogical or ill-conceived actions.

I'm sure I would have a hard time sleeping when my daily briefing contained so many bits of information that may or may not be important. There's no way to differentiate between the undependable blurbs and something that might really be the prelude to something important.

There must be sinister plots we can't even conceive of, and the most galling part of being President must be having to keep all of your vigilance a secret.

If you ever look at the photographs of Presidents before and after their terms in office, you see a massive difference. Look at fotos of Clinton before and after. Jimmy Carter seemed to age 20 years while in office for one term.

It would be super tough to sleep at night. I know how he feels. I have problems sleeping at night and I only have a small business to run much less a whole country.

i very much doubt it is George who has all the intel... Check out Cheney.. he is probably the one who doesn't sleep. do you honestly think intelligence agencies would trust Bush with all that sensitive matter. i don't think so. He would blurt it out somewhere in one of his pretend folksy moments. no.. he is just the puppet.
