no but if u produce music u should look at an apple macbook or macbook pro. they can also run windows if u need to.

Not much except that it refers to the warranty that may be behind it.

Many computer "brands" are simply resellers of parts they don't make. You can buy the same computer from many venders with their own "name" on it.

They might have added some stuff to make it easier to use, easier to troubleshoot, and so on. Which can help if you are a computer novice.

Your work producing music may be helped by having a computer under warranty and with a support service to take over so you don't have to geek it up.

If you are willing to geek it up though you can often save several hundred dollars forgoing the gew-gaws.

Yes it matters. It also matters what system configuration you get. If you are serious about using your PC for producing music then you should hook up with one of the best system builders for a top of the line system. I'd stay away from HP and Dell for that type of thing.

I've been doing this for years, and i have to say that Dell's are the least well constructed all the parts (well nearly) are knock off cheap crap that doesn't do the job, they underclock proccessor,s i know i undid it on a friend's dell so you don't get the best from your computer

nowadays, with softward, and hardwear companies streamlining things, it doesn't really matter. they all end up using the sam components, and software is usually multi platformed.
