I believe you are right; the democrats are not going to adopt pacifist demands. No one can be elected in this country, unless that person passes some minimum acceptance by the military industrial complex.
America is an empire and no chief executive can ignore that.
Still, that is no reason to vote republican. The republican is not obedient to the military industrial complex because he must; he is obedient because he loves the beast.

Speaking for myself. I agree with the first assertion. Democrats are owned by many of the same corporations as the Republicans, and wouldn't represent any substantial change to the poor who need representation the most and get it the least, though they might be a little more likely to tax the rich and strengthen social services if only for the votes. As for voting Republican. I'm afraid there's a little too much Dominionist and Neocon influence there for me. The Dems may be oligarchs, but I think they'd be less likely to overthrow our Constitutional Democratic Republic in favor of a totalitarian "Christian" Theocracy and a new dark age.

All politicians lie, it is the nature of the beast. Liberals generally make a lot of noise regarding stopping this, that or whatever thing their voting base is railing on at the time. But ultimately you have to look at their actions to know their real intent. Liberal politicians cant solve any problems because they would loose constituents by doing so. They are only interested in maintaining the status quo and preserving their own power. Perfect example: Al Gore travels around the country in private jets and fleets of SUV's lecturing about global warming. He has one of the biggest carbon footprints of anyone on the planet. But as long as he is talking about doing something its ok. Never mind that his actions and words are in conflict, the fact that he is talking about doing something is enough. That is the entire problem with the Democratic party. They have adopted the attitude that complaining about something is the same as actually taking action. In recent years the Dems havent done anything except complain about bush and everything that is happening in the world. It seems like since the kennedy administration all they have done is complain without proposing any solutions to the problem. We need to leave Iraq they yell, Fine I say, What is your proposed exit strategy! Quit crying and start thinking. You dont like how things are, then come up with some alternatives or ways to correct things.

I think the fact that you are basing your views on how much defense corporations bribe each party says everything we need to know. Until the Republicans came back to their origins, voting for them again will never be reality for me. This is from someone who voted for Reagan and the senior Bush in their first terms.

I'd be scared to death to vote Republican. Doesn't GWB have some brothers and/or cousins in politics??? We could not take another 4-8 years with another Bush.

No you don't get it. Corporations donate to whomever is in power. They don't care. They just want subsidies and legislation friendly to their bottom lines. Look at the historical numbers and correlate them to who controlled congress at the time. No inflated sense neccessary. If you control the purse strings (congress) you control the power, plain and simple. Corporations know that.
You don't think the GOP has thrown you into the dumpster?
Has your health care cost gone up?
Has gasoline, diesel and home heating oil gone up?
Has food and milk gone up?
Have housing costs gone up?
Has natural gas and electricity gone up?
The current home price bust notwithstanding, it was inevitable.
Start thinking, start looking at facts and stop blathering.

The lesser of two evils.
I would like to point out that there are more than two political parties in this nation, though. Let's create real choices by promoting ranked-choice voting!
