Believe it or not that would actually be tv's first filmed sitcom,which you still used to see on cable when I was a kid in the 80's. It was called "The Life of Riley" and it was about this lower-middle class family of really nice people except for one thing: everybody was a total con artist. And they accepted that in each other. So they didn't make any bones about the idea that none of them had any principles at all. They were completely unscrupulous,totally unabashed about it,and yet (somehow) really nice people. They were all sort of casually amoral. I was brought up Catholic,so try to imagine the appeal. I also liked the late '40's background,which seemed weird for any tv show. You associate tv with the 50's on.
