My daughter began to hold her head up at 3 months, but she was also my second child and they say that the 2nd child always does things faster.

EVERY baby is different just like every pregnancy...some start at 3 months from 4, 5 6, like all humans..not everyone developes the same or at the same time take for instance "late bloomers" lol so it all depends...sometimes it helps to keep their head propped up instead of them lying down all the time builds the muscles in the back of their neck a little better...but when he/she's ready they'll do it in their own good time good luck

Obviously some people are thinking about sitting up.

My baby could hold her head steadily by 6 weeks. She would try and try before that, but it never was really steady.
