Im 22 years old and am about to get a job where you need to know how to convert percentages to fractions and so forth...I haven't used them in so long that I have totally forgotten how to work them out!

1 percent = 0.01

1 = 100 percent

So you have to divide or to multiply by 100. That's all.

To convert a fraction to a percentage, multiply by 100:
(5/8) * 100 = 5 * 100 / 8 = 500 / 8 = 62.5%.

To convert a percentage to a fraction, divide by 100:
25% = 25/100 = 1/4.

tip to convert a fraction to percentage:
fraction = (decimal) * 100 %

example:
fraction 3/5
convert 3/5 to a decimal number: 3/5 = 0.6
so,
3/5 = (0.6) * 100 % = (0.6 * 100) % = 60 %

tip to convert a pecentage to a fraction
percentage % = (percentage /100)

example:
60 % = (60/100) = 6/10 = 3/5

Think in quarters

.25 (25cents/quarter) X 4 (4 quarters) = 1.00 (100%)= $1.00

.25 +.25=.50 (50%)

It's really easy...don't stress...if you wern't smart for the job or competant then they wouldn't have hired you....you're smarter than you think....we all are! :)
