How do you study for an English Literature Exam?

I've got this mid year literature exam and i have absolutely no idea how to prepare for it , please help!!! The questions which are going to be asked are essay type some tips on how to approach and answer them would be great! Thanx for your help!!

It's best to study with a friend. Make up questions covering the coursework and either answer them orally or in writing. Two people can think of details one person might miss.

hopefully you have notes that you have took during the lecture....so I would definitely study thoes.
