The Military Junta renamed Burma Myamar (the Union of Myamar in full). However the regime is seen as illegitimate by many Western governments, including the US. The acts of the Junta are not diplomatically recognized so as far as these countries are concerned the name change doesn't count so the name Burma continues to be used.
