The smell of rotting flesh. Ever smell a decomposing animal or (god forbid) a person? It's horrendous and unmistakable. I've smelled it 3 times. the last 2 times people were like "ew what's that smell"; I knew what it was right away, I never forgot it. It's making me ill to even think about it.
The next runner up would be the smell of rotten milk.

It was the smell of burning flesh. A guy wrecked a Corvette right in front of me on the Parkway one time and his car just burst into flames and there was no way anyone could save him because you couldn't get near the car. He screamed for a little while. It was horrible and I will never forget that smell. I can actually smell it now when I think about it. But I don't like to think about it because I couldn't save him.

Found a dead body in the senior mobile home park that I manage, had not seen the man for 3 days and it was in the 90's. Did not even have to open the door to know what had happened, but once the police came and opened the door, OMG. I had to identify the body which was very difficult after 3 days, had to wear a scot air pack to go in.
Had a dead animal die in the walls of the house somewhere, smell lasted for months, actually burned my nose and eyes.
Also, right in my own bathroom after hubby used it, need I say more.

I still think cows are. I mean, when I'm in the car, on the highway and I pass a big cow station, I smell this just absolutely, positively, disgusting, TERRIBLE smell that comes through our air vents to circulate the air in the car. But i think that it's one of the most disgusting smells that I have ever been near!! Don't you think so? I lived on a farm and we used to have cows, (that was before I was born of course) and then we finally got rid of them when I was two, and I'm very glad that my family decided that so then I didn't have to grow up with that, ugh!! I know I would have probably gotten used to that smell, but I used to have some neighbors that whenever you walk past them or talk to them, you could smell this strong and disgusting smell in the air, it smelt like cow dump, ugh!! (again) They were nice people of course, but that's how they smelt, yuck!! That's really the only smell that really bothers me the most because I lived on a farm or else it would've been the smell of chicken manure that laid by our house for years, we don't know why. It was pretty far away, but it was still really disgusting. Don't you agree? :o) Keep on smiling!!!

Ok I think Sparky or Dobiegang's takes the cake! I think the smell of a skunk is disgusting, I smell those everywhere here. But I don't think that would be either of those.

A rotten potato that had rolled behind the stove, somehow. I could not find the little beggar and I had fruit flies all over the place. It was an awful stench until I tore the kitchen apart!

my boyfriend's ears, he's got plugs in his lobes and you have to clean them every day or they start getting sweat and old soap built up in them... BARF. As he's cleaning them the smell fills our entire house. Its probably one of the worst i've ever smelled, the other one thats pretty bad is bird/chicken poo, it's pretty rank, and we have to smell it all the time cause we live near a farm.

oh man I forgot about that one! I dunno how though! My granny is a landlord and the guy who was renting one of her little houses shot himself in the head, he had no family so he laid there for 6 days in the summer, you could smell it all over our little town...it was horrific. They had to tear that house down and replace it, it was so bad.
