Well it's not really violentish it's about war but Saving Private Ryan was defienetely the most gory movie I've ever seen in my entire life.

Maybe not violent, but the most gory movie I've seen that was any good was Hostel.

Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ. It's not men fighting men but it's Men beating Christ to a bloody pulp to the point where you even see them rip of a chunk of a flesh exposing his ribs. Then they hang him on a cross with his mother and apostles looking on. You also see Judas Iscariot's mental torture at betraying Christ to the point of being tormented by childlike demons who drive him to suicide. It's a gruesome movie by any standards.

I think it was called Eye See You. Freaked me the heck out! I'm not really a fan of horror movies anyway.
