Ok, I was on the depo shot for a year before i stopped taking it. Whial i was on the shot I did not bleed or even spot, so i wasn't able to trake my pieriods. I got of the depo shot 4months ago and have been spotting here and there... little and alot. So it has been random. Last month I had my period i think, it was verry heavy and lasted 4 days. I used to have my period right after my mom would start, and it would last 7 days so i figured that this was my period. my mom was on hers and it was a lot more blood then spotting.
I should have had my next one by now if i had started back into my schedual... but didn't. I feel like i did when i was pregnant, but i felt like this when i was 5 months pregnant, and i guessed that i might be 2 or 3 months. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it turned out negative. I feel like i am on my period, all the cramping and blouting...

What is going on here? do you think i am pregnant... or is this normal for a depo shot withdraw?

You may want to switch your birth control. I was on Depo for 8 years, and had no side effects, except for weight gain. You want to watch how long you are on Depo because it depletes bone mass, and can cause osteoporosis if used for long periods of time. I would talk to your OB provider, but if I were you I would not take any birth control for a couple months, let your body regulate itself and once you are having normal and regular periods again maybe try getting on a lower hormone birth control, like Yazmin or I am sure your OB Dr. can give you other options of birth control. Sounds like your body is kinda screwed up right now.

I was on the depo shot for only 6 months, and my bleeding returned immediately after the shot wore off. But this month, I have not had any bleeding what so ever. I was told that it may take up to 12 months for your periods and menstrual cycle to return to normal. I was also told that fertility usually doesn't return for at least 4 months but could take up to 18 months. Although sometimes it does return immediately. If the test said negative, I'm sure it's from the depo shot. That is why I discontinued the use of the shot. The side effects were crazy and bleeding was so unpredictable!

Everyone's body is different, but when I got off of Depo it took a good year for everything to become regular again. Some months I would spot, some months I would have horrible periods and then some months no bleeding at all, however, one month after i started regular periods I got pregnant.

I was on depo for 3 years... and when I went off it was over 6 months until I had a period - and another 4 months from when I first started spotting until I started getting regular

It's common going off depo - same symptoms etc... if you still think you might be pregnant I would go to the doctor

I think it's normal. Since you haven't been on depo for a while, your body is probably getting used to it again. Something similar happened to me when I stopped taking Depo and got back on it. When i first was on depo, i never spotted or bled. I was on it for 2 or 3 years. I switched to the pill and nuva ring, and eventually came back to the depo because i liked it the most. well i had a moderate period for 3 or 4 weeks in a row, stopped for a couple days, and started again. Your body is probably just getting accustomed to being on the shot again. If you're really that worried, contact your physician, though i'm sure you're okay.

depo can really mess with your periods, you may want to see your dr to get them back on schedule.
