You can sue anyone, but you'll have a hard time finding a lawyer and someone to sue if the company closed.

Who can you sue for damages and would you expect anything if they have no assets? Most likely, it's a corporation which shields individuals from lawsuits so you'll have no defendants.

You mean the company completely dissolved? Well, who are you goinng to sue? The prior owners are insultaled from liability, your only recourse is againist the company and they are gone. If you think something fraudulent was done or you think the owners took money from the corp before sdisolving it, then possibly you could go after the prior owners, but this is very difficult. Better go see a lawyer with the specifics if you think something below board was done.
