Oxalic acid reacts with hydroxide:
C2H2O4+2NaOH>Na2C2O4+2H2O

0.2567 grams of pure, dry oalic acid is weighed out and dissolved in an unknown amount of water, but less than 30 milliliters. This solutionis titrated to the phenolphthalein endpoint using a solution of NaOH of unknown molarity. It takes 27.35 milliliters of NaOH solution to reach the endpoint. Calculate the molarity of the unknown NaOH solution.

moles oxalate = 1/2 moles hydroxide

moles oxalxte = weight oxalate/MW oxalate = 0.2567/58 = 4.44E-3

4.44E-3 = 1/2 moles hydroxide, so moles hydroxide = 8.88E-3

8.88e_3 moles hydroxide/0.2735 liters = 0.0162 molar
