....that it is becoming popular for teens, and preteens to use the word "retard" to put down others, much like the "n" word was used towards blacks. Personally, I find that word "retard" highly offensive and think that it should be buried some how. Anyone else agree??

your right. but you also know people don't care who they hurt with words as long as it not them being call that. see i was born in the 80's and i was taught that if i didn't have anything good to say not to say anything at all.but it all goes back to RESPECT for ones self and others which is lacking these days

being P.C. sucks.... and if we kill "retard" it will just be be reborn as some other word.... we have been using slurs from the beginning of the history of man and it will never end.... but i do agree it is pretty childish...even if i am one of the guilty who use it often...

l don't like it,too. Too insulting and making most people think retardates are low-life creatures. They are every inch human beings like us.
