no dear, that can't be done to me anymore but there was a time it could.

It depends on if I care about the person or not. If it's someone I care about and they're in a bad mood for a good reason, I would likely empathize with them and maybe feel bad too. If it's someone I don't particularly care for, their mood will likely not have much of an effect on me.

Yes,my friend is so negative about everything and when he visits it sure stresses me out even though I'm in a good mood beforehand. He never has a positive outlook on anything. He says theres nothing to be positive about and wonders how i never let things bother me. Sometimes I feel like telling him not to come over for a visit, but don't want to hurt his feelings.I just can't be mean to anyone.

No.
don't let someone influence your good mood!
In fact if you just respect the fact that they are in a bad mood, but continue with your good mood, maybe your mood will rub off on him and improve his day.

I think it is almost impossible not too; and because you DO care about them, sometimes you say or do something that makes their mood worse. I admired a friend of mine who, when his wife was moody, would wait for her to suggest something, and then say: "OK, let's do that then!" (even if it was something he would rather not do, or that he thought was ridiculous; providintg that it was not totally inappropriate). That invariably improved her mood

I wear my loved ones troubles
it helps to ease their load.
They only have to look for me
to walk them down that road.
