I just had my mentral on June 23, 07. My cycles are exactly 29 days every month. My luteal phase is the average 14. On my ovulation chart, I was supposed to ovulate Saturday or Sunday July 7th or 8th. BUT this month I started using the OPK's. So I begin testing on July the 2nd, ( got a neg result ) July the 3rd ( showed 2 lines, but still neg ) July 4th , ( definately a positive result ) So we did our thing on the 4th , and again on the 6st. Thinking that I caught the LH surge just as it peaked, and within 24-36 hours I would ovulate. I tested again for the remaining days with the OPK's, I am still Positive. The last day I tested was Yesterday , What is going on ??

sounds like an off cycle. Everyone once in a while your ovulation "cue" misfires...so you may have ovulated early or not at all...dont panic. the best thing you're telling me is that you have nice regular cycles....that means you more than likely ovulate almost every month. hang in there!!! just wait for your cycle and start over w the tests, i think the predictor kits are very helpful. if you period is late.....beware....you may still have gotten pregnant!!! :)

They say as soon as you see the positive ( one of the lines being very darker then the other) that you do not need to test for the remainder of the month.
Since you might have ovulated between the 4 - 11 July their may be a lot of the LH hormone in your system until you have completed ovulation.
But you are talking about having a positive result for 7 days, did you notice one day when you tested it was darker then the other days?
Just to be safe still have intercourse until you think that you are done ovulation.
This month I took the OKP's starting around the 7th, every test that I have took so far both lines are barely there, but I had every other sign making me beilive that I have ovulated, like cervical discharge, pain on one side of ovary, breast tenderness, etc....

Once you get your positive ovulation kit, you need to stop. Or it drives you crazy.

When you get the definite positive, you can expect to ovulate within 24-36 hours, and you should be having sex that night, and the night after. Your egg is good for 12-20 hours, and then it's not viable. Ideally, sex every other day leading up to the time you normally ovulate will put you in the best place, as sperm can live for up to 5 days.

You are still seeing ovulation results because LH is still is your system after you ovulate. Stop taking the tests after your positive.

I agree with the PP. Every body is different. Last cycle I got 4 days of positive OPKs, just as soon as you get that positive, start BDing and BD until you get the negative! Sometimes you can get positive OPKs for a week plus- sometimes your body keeps surging and never releases the egg. Keep testing with the OPK until you get a negative to be sure! GL and baby dust!
