First of all Human Growth Hormone is on the list of banned substances in MLB. However, per the MLB and union agreement only urine tests can be conducted and to test for HGH you need to do a blood test. You are correct, Bonds has never tested positive for any banned substance since the testing started. The problem that Bonds has is a leaked grand jury testimony where Bonds, himself, testifies that he was not aware that a certain cream he was applying was a steroid. This is what everyone is jumping on at this time and it is his own statement that ties him to steroid use.

HGH, Steroids, he took them, but Barry is just shying away because they were not illegal or banned in baseball when he took them. He does not have to incriminate himself if what he did was legal at the time. That's why nobody is charging him with a crime or banning him from playing the sport. Only the suppliers and distributors are facing heat and jail time because prescribing steroids is illegal.
HGH helped him get bigger but the steroids probably just helped with healing from injury faster. None of those drugs are proven to enhance performance in baseball. All of those HR's he hit were basically of his own doing and not with the help of drugs. I just hope he did not take much that would really jeopardize his life in the future.

Because he is the only one about to break the most coveted of baseball records...no one else is... he has also admitted to some kind of cream usage that "could have been steroids" and HGH is Illegal as the person above said they can't trace it

HGH is both a banned substance by the major leagues and illegal to have in the U.S. without a prescription.

I think Yahoo should make a separate category entitled "Barry Bonds". This question has been asked so many times in so many different ways, that Yahoo should consider giving him his own section.

The key word is that he "accidentally" did it. I'm sure if he really did steroids, he wouldn't even admit to "accidentally" doing it.
