We're a hetero couple, married for almost 37 years, and we have no issue at all with gay marriage.
Homosexuals have been denied the equal right to marry for so long that many have grown to aspire to marriage as a triumph over being regarded as fourth class citizens their entire lives. Heterosexuals have had the luxury of taking marriage for granted.
If someone feels that the stability or "sanctity" of their marriage relationship is seriously threatened by gay marriage, perhaps they have other issues.
Any couple of any gender that can keep a relationship together for 8 years is "beating the odds" for divorce.
Face the ugly statistics; heteros have not done all that well in keeping things together. Why should they claim the right to set standards?

Well, honestly I'm Catholic, but I won't speak from a religious point of view condemning you to hell for being a lesbian. Actually, I am more mature than that.
First, I think that the unoin between a gay/lesbian couple should be accepted, I believe the word "marriage" mustn't be used for it because it has a religious background and every believer in the world will oppose.
Second, I'd like to ask: If we are discussing gay marriage now, will we be discussing gay divorce in the future?
My opinion is this: I think that gays and lesbians want to get married, more than for reaching a legal status or public recognition, to achieve legal benefits: marital property, the right to inherit the property of his/her couple after death and the like. At this, I think that these issues can be solved either by wills or by legal documents and new laws.
I insist the word marriage has a religious background and should be avoided.

Many many years ago marriage was set up to be between man and woman however, there was no mention of anyone being gay (people were) but it was not spoken of so why would have they even thought about gay marriage. That just wasn't a part of life. But for today, where it is and is everywhere and widely accepted I believe it should be allowed. If you love each other and vowel to be faithful etc etc etc then why would it be wrong? It is only wrong if you are doing it for the wrong reasons!

It's wrong. Marriage was set up to be between a man & a woman. If gay and lesbian couples want to cohabitate, they certainly can but to allow them to marry dilutes what marriage is about.

A person's private business is just that, private business and nobody elses. I also feel the lesbians and gays should be entitled to get married; after all, there is no reason they shouldn't be just as miserable as the rest of us.

Personally, i don't think the society or the government has any right to say who an individual can or cannot marry. You should have every right to marry the person you love, regardless of sex, race, religion, and the like. As long as the persons involved are competent, consenting adults, it should be anyone else's damn business.

Mmm, hard one...makes me uncomfortable, probably because I'm bi-curious and when I had my first gay (male) friends I felt uneasy as I thought they were eyeing me up,they were apparently, so you can see where this comes from....probably my fault for going ovr after horse rind and wearing tight riding breeches and long leather riding boots...okay so it's my own fault.
I believe gay or straight you have the same rights and others just have to live with their own issues and deal.

I'm against it. It goes against everything God stands for. He says homosexuals will go to hell. I ask you to read the book "23 Minutes in Hell" and then ask yourself if you really want to be in Hell for eternity.
