Can't there be a mature conversation here without the immature name-calling, and senseless bashing of one political party or another, as well as the candidates within those parties? Can't we focus on whats really important?

I agree with you completely!

Unfortunately, pretty much any political website I've seen is 90% name-calling and bashing. There needs to be a site where these types can be weeded out so we can have mature conversations.

People have tried having mature conversations here - it doesn't work

People seem to get emboldened when they can shout out anonymously. Some people just like sound bites. Some get a feeling of satisfaction trying to make other people sound stupid

Some like to play politician and point fingers. Little do they know at the political top there is no difference only the pawns believe differently.

You speak of a Utopia that is unlike to manifest here. I think people have too much fun name calling. I have to admit I've done it a time or two myself but sometimes you just can't help it the questions can be so stupid that you just have to make fun of them.

I feel as if the problem is that a lot of people are trying emulate satirists and political comedians without the knowledge base or wit to do it well.

usually the facts are presented with a liberal or conservative slant to serve a purpose.. when you start a debate like that.. you can't have a fair and open debate.

now that doesn't change the fact that people should just avoid traps and aim for true questions and debate instead.. but we are all human.

Terrorists kill less people world wide then drowning .
Lets do a reality check here .
Anyone who is part of a group that says over and over Its better to fight them there then here is nuts .
Lets get a few of them here and then jail them and find out who is supporting them .
We could capture brainwash and release them .

Can't we do both?

Bashing with facts from third party sources?

Otherwise all everybody has are just opinions.
