Rodriguez started putting on more weight when he moved to third base. Since the position requires less range and less agility he was able to bulk up without is significantly affecting his defense ability.
Rodriguez has long been considered an top player and exceptional athlete so it isn't surprising that he is a physical speciman and was able to put on significant muscle mass relatively quickly (let us not forget he also has access to the best trainers and nutritionists in the country as well).
But perhaps the biggest reason A-Rod hasnt been questioned is that he hasn't been implicated. His name isn't on any doctor's record for having recieved steroids or HGH; he hasn't been named by other players as someone who they used with or saw using. Without evidence or ever allegations of this type there's not much of a reason to suspect him - being in good shape and an excellent player is not enough of a reason to investigate someone.

Rocket in all probability did, even nevertheless he remains struggling with fiercly in court to tutor the choice. A-Rod did not. The mark of a individual who makes use of steroids is that his season numbers take a monster bounce. Take Bonds as an occasion, he had 15 domicile runs one season, and appeared like a skinny 19-year old. next season he jacks 40+ and seems just about like Arnold. A-rod's numbers have taken leaps, yet not monster leaps. He has been a great participant his total occupation, and not one drug attempt has shown the choice.

Just look at A-rod...thats not the body of a steroid user. He may have gotten bigger since he first came into the league, but thats due to getting older. He was a teenager when he came up and his body matured as he got older, it happens to every man on the planet. He hits a lot of homeruns yes, but that is due to natural talent and has nothing to do with performance enhancing drugs.

It is prettey unfair how all this steroid speculation is working out. I've heard rumors of Ortiz taking steroids but he's not he's just phat. Then you got guys like a-rod who are not the biggest people but definatlely have ALOT of muscle.

No one really cares. They all know Bonds did steroids, but they will not do anything. It seems all they care about is since McGwire refused to answer either way, then he must be guilty, and will not let him in the Hall of Fame.
It's really sad...

simply bec most home run hitters right now are know for using that drug... from mark mcguire to sammy sosa and barry bonds the list just keeps on going... but arod is not using it but is really hitting the ball like crazy... the guy is just pure talent that is why nobody is talking about steroids in his game...

Yes he has gotten bigger beacuse he is older. His home runs per year have been fairly consistent thats why. Bonds got much bigger and he all of a sudden went from 30 HR's per year to 50+ per year at an older age

noone is persectuing ARod because he has always been that same size, about 220. this last year he dropped alott of body fat (something rediculous, like down to 6%) and gained about 10 lbs of muscle. plus the fact that he still has the same hat and shoe size his entire career is also a good sign that he is clean. ARod is just pure.

Two things:
1) He's bigger than when he started, but he's still fairly average sized and only weighs about 190.
2) Of course he's bigger than when he came into the league, considering that he started his career when he was 18 years old. My concern would be if he started getting bigger in his late 30s.
