The USA team is a joke. I'm sorry. I LOVE my boys....don't get me wrong. I love my teams and my players but FOR REAL....Play some defense! I HATE that these young men go out and play for basketball to represent MY country and Eff it up b/c they are too lazy and undiciplined to get back after a missed shot and play defense! They're too worried about missing the shot or gettin hit and not gettin the call so they go to the Ref. and pout! I'd say No they don't really have a chance at winning the Gold with how they play. You could have all the best players from the NBA playing for the US and if they don't play defense, they're still gonna lose.

I sure hope so. We came so close last year. The young guys, class of 2003, did a really good job representing us. No egos, no dirty play, no arguing, and decent camaraderie. This year, Kobe and Chauncey Billups are going to be added to the roster as well, and you could say that those two are comparatively veteran players. Yes, I think that we will win the FIBA in 07 and the Olympics in 08. But a lot can happen in one year. Unless there are no major injuries in the 07-08 season, I think we have a good shot at it.

The U.S. should always be considered as one of the two or three favorites. However, if we look at the trend from the past few years it looks like some of the other countries have caught up in the skills and fundamentals department. The U.S. will always have the most athletic and argueably best players. We're just not a sure lock anymore.

Well...from my point of view,i would say that the potential 4 the US team to win gold is always there...but somehow...lately,these few years, the US failed to win gold...some said that it's due to no team work in the team..indeed,to a certain extent,i do agree with them...cz if there's no team work in basketball,u can never play well,to win of course is a big problem..
IF..if..the US team can overcome tis prob..i strongly believe the Dream Team will b back..

I think the US will have trouble winning the gold medal in any Olympics as long as they use professionals on their team. Pros in the NBA don't play with the intensity and desire required to win the gold. Go back to using amateurs and the gold will return to the US.

send Shaq, Kobe, dwight Howard,
Carmello, Dwade, Amare stoudemire, baron Davis.. etc, etc.. then theyll win 4 sure... Plus they are tired from the regular season and playoffs.

Not at all. The only way they could is if they leave their HUGE egos behind and come ready to play against the best in the world.

they suck in the past years but i hope they can make a turn around here... they acquired services for some role players (tayshaun prince, shane battier etc.) and not all superstars that would provide the team more hustle and do the little things that ofcourse superstars are not known doing for...
