How much does it bother you when you get one or more "thumbs down" after simply stating your opinion-even if it's as simple as your favorite color, song, etc?
Or when you actually state something that is true, and even include it's source?

Good point, Cpt ALex: Another annoyance-people answering a question just to irk the person asking-when they have no experience regarding the question!

It only bothers me when I feel the asker is truly wanting an honest answer, but, because he/she doesn't LIKE the response, factual or not, it is given a "thumbs down". But it's not always the asker giving the negative feed back. Many times it's other posters so, you can't win. Most of the time, people just don't want to hear the truth.

Otherwise, I don't let it bother me.

Try to remember that not always is it the questioner giving thumbs down. I have seen a lot mor lately where others are doing it.
Even if it turns out it is the questioner doing it, it just shows they really can't handle opinions well and shouldn't ask a question. I give thumbs up for all opinions and even use some.
It just depends on the person.

I don't care. Most people give thumbs down because they just disagree with your opinion. They don't consider the actual content of the response. If I asked what your favorite color was and you said pink, I wouldn't give it a thumbs down because I hate pink. That's your choice. If you said blue, which is my favorite, I wouldn't give you a thumbs up either. If you said pink and why it's pink, I'd be more likely to give you a thumbs up. I don't base picking "Best Answer" on thumbs up or down on my questions.

Doesn't bother me in the least. I answered a question where I said... I know I am going to get a thumbs down for this, but I am being honest. I got two thumbs up for it!

It don't bother me at all. I rarely go back to my responses to see if I got a thumbs up or down anyway. This is all in good fun to me so a thumbs down would just be another thing to laugh at.

I honestly do not care. I wish I did as I'm sure it would make the person who gave me one feel better, but I simply can not evoke any emotion over a thumbs down.

It bothers me a lot. Now, if I am completely wrong, that is one thing, but an opinion? It also bothers me when someone posts a question, want's your opinion, then goes off on you when you give it. What is that all about?

Thumbs down don't count against you, and everyone can vote, even those without good taste or much common sense.
