I have some .ogm(general) files that I want to burn to a dvd. I'm using Mandriva Linux.

Most standalone dvd players only support the MPEG-2 video format, which is a collection of .VOB and .IFO files. There are a few dvd players which also support less popular formats such as: VCD (video compact discs), DivX and other MPEG-4 video formats.

DVD Players usually use .VOB files. try getting a third-party utility for burning these files.
