In essence, they did just the same thing (with equal amounts of proof.) So before you insult Mormons, take a good look at yourself.

I would never insult Mormons! I don't personally believe everything they believe, but we have freedom of religion and freedom of thought here, and the last thing I would ever do is criticize someone else for their beliefs.

Last time I checked, St. Paul didn't order terrorist raids on his neighbors, burn newspapers that published facts about his cult activities, promote plural marriages and pervert the word of God by making false prophetic claims.

Joseph Smith was a cult leader in every sense of the term. His followers in his time were nothing but fools for abandoning the Holy Bible.

I question anyone's claim that they had a vision and talked to god who gave them previously 'missing' information: Abraham, Moses, Paul, Mohammed, Smith, Hubbard.

Deities have more important things to do than order the death, destruction and/or conversion of any sentient being that doesn't "believe". Running the Universe takes a little talent and some concentration.
