Ok- I'm a bigger girl. I wear a size 16/18 dress. I need a little black dress for an all-occasion kind of thing. I found this one. It's beautiful. It's great. It's PERFECT. And the biggest size I can find it in is a 12. So, I have decided to try to find a pattern to make it, or a pattern similiar to it, that maybe can be changed a little? I don't know much about sewing. A friend will be doing it for me.

So far- the only patterns I have been able to find in plus sizes are horribly ugly. and nothing like my dream dress! :) Is this a hopeless search? Is there somewhere I can have a pattern for it made? PLEASE HELP!

I need a pattern because the dress does not come in my size. I tried McCalls website, but they have nothing simliar. I actually don't know any other pattern companies. The only things i can find that are similiar are "vintage" and that's not what I'm going for. Thanks for your help!

i've got actual made that development up--although I did positioned some extra darts in for shaping. even though it made up superbly, went together incredibly certainly. What I additionally did grow to be line the drape so as that i did no longer have the incorrect area displaying, this may be an incredible place to place your royal blue accessory--it may be very dramatic! Congrats and stable success!

i don't c y u even need a pattern. black is a slimming color. u should look great in it no matter what. btw, its a beautiful dress! a way u can "jazz it up" is by wearing some nice maching silver or gold. or buy a brooch or pendent to clip on to ur dress.

This one is similar, your friend just needs to add the bow and some sheer fabric overlays. She would cut it a little shorter and "handkerchief" the bottom. She may want to make the straps narrower too.
