It is a title rotor aircraft operated by the USAF and the US Marines. It takes off and lands like a helicopter and flies like an airplane. In theory, it flies faster and has better range than a helicopter.

The F-22 Osprey, is a unique aircraft. It has all the capability's of a conventional aircraft, with the added benefits of a helicopter. It gives the Marines the capability to perform their main objectives........................LATER..........

It's the first fixed-wing aircraft that can swivel the wings/propeller either up, to perform like a helicopter, or straight ahead, to fly like a regular airplane.

It works....that is what is unusual....

Vertical take off is not an easy thing to design...and there have been some serious accidents in the development of this thing...
