It depends on your situation. If you have paid sick leave or vacation time you can take, then take it, if not you have to look at you leverage at work, are you a star performer and highly valued employee? If yes, you can use that to call in and ask for some time off to recuperate. If no, depending on how badly you need the job, I would suggest reporting to work and immediately notifying your supervisor of your health condition. If they say you must stay, suggest that you be assigned to tasks that keep you out of contact with customers and limits contact with co-workers. Your supervisor may tell you to go home after a couple of hours, if they have a conscience, they will send you home right away and you will not be punished for it. Aside from your personal well-being, which is very important, there has to be consideration given to other people that would be exposed to your illness and the danger that presents to them and their loved ones.

Kristine, why are you bothering to lie to a bunch of people you don't even know? If they say yes, you should call off, they're saying it because you said you are really sick - from all your posts last night you came out and said you are just making up an excuse to ditch work, so just what does having a bunch of strangers say "yes, you should call off" do for you?
Lie to your boss if you have to, but why bother to lie to people you'll never even see?

Yes, your germs could very easily be spread to many people. It'd be best to call in sick.
