I'm not being JUDGMENTAL! If your obese and walk by yourself, i'm cool with you, i'm just not cool with some obese guy chillin in the oreo section at the gocery store going 1 mph on his scooter cuz hes to fat to walk. Theres a saying that goes "Pull your own weight"

If you have real "HEALTH" problems i'm not saying you cant use a scooter, i'm just saying if your SOLE purpose is because your FAT and you get tired, than thats just laziness.

I say, if a fat person does use a scooter we can attach our shopping cart to it and they have to tow us around. That's just me. I am a thinker.

⥠There are many other reasons that a heavy person is on a scooter... some may be a bit lazy.. but some have medical problems (that may or may not be associated with being overweight).... For example: I'm obese and I do walk... however its really hard for me because in September 2006 a drunk driver hit my family and I had an upper back sprain, and a lower back and neck strain... I'm still recovering from it... and when I walk long distances my back begins aching so badly that I cant breathe... so I think you should grow up and realize that being overweight/obese doesnt always mean your being lazy.
And as for your comment saying that we shouldnt be fat in the first place... if you were educated you would know that being overweight has less than 1% to do with actual food that its all depending upon how fast your metabolism is. I know this because I am currently a medical student.
So grow up, quit bashing on people, and get a damn life.!

What about medical causes for obesity that also facilitate the need for scooters? For example, a person with Muscular Dystrophy could have such weak muscles that they can get around like the rest of us. Because of this, they can't burn the calories like us so they gain weight to the point they could be considered obese. This compounds the originating problem of the Muscular Dystrophy that prevents the person from just walking in the first place. What about someone like that? You can't assume to know everything about a person just because you see someone FAT riding a scooter. That IS judgemental, just because you're making asumptions!

Don't be so judgemental! Unfortunately some people can't control their weight! I for one! I walk all over the place when I can but my weight keeps going up why? Because of medical reasons and it runs in the family...can't afford to do anything about it! Plus Try being on some meds...I work with people all day and some have to be in motorized scooter to go anywhere because they can't walk anymore for one reason or another and thats when they put on majority of weight.... So think before commenting to anyone.....and remember one thing...treat others as you want others to treat you.....

i think its a little of both. sure, theres going to be a lot of people that are lazy. but on the other hand theres probably alot of people that have bad knees, hips, ect that could be caused by their weight so in a ways it is necessary. some people are fat though, hell, im fat. but i do know what its like to be on a medication that causes you to gain weight no matter how much you work against it....but i would never allow myself to get to the point where id be in a scooter. but some people cannot help that.

i'm with all the people who said you shouldn't be that judgmental...im not obese, not even close, i've had to work HARD to keep a healthy body, but i don't judge others who don't have the same body type as me. They could be overweight because of meds or some kind of hereditary ailment. im sure there are a few in the bunch who are probably lazy, but still judging them as a whole group is just wrong...GROW UP!

awww thats not very nice, you know there are certain medicine that make people gain weight, i do understand if they are just lazy then i do agree with you, but if you do see someone obese person on a scotter , you really should not judge them cause u really dont know why they are using the scooter, remember you dont know your future.

A mind is a horrible thing to waste, it's not too late to change your perspective. Too bad all handicaps are not as noticeable, but then nature has a way of revealing them.......
