Hi everyone, My husband chose the name alexandra however I feel as though alex is a bit masculine. What letter do you all think can better replace the 'e'?
1.Alyxandra
2.Allixandra
3.Alixandra

Or any other suggestions?

I think Alexandra looks the prettiest spelled out... The other spellings look alittle bit off.

I did like the Alixandra suggestion as well though.

Well, the first two are a little weird in my opinion. It seems that you are trying to hard here. Remember your child has to spell her name when she is older. Also, teachers have to pronounce it! I would pronounce the first two as Ally -xandra. If that is what you want, go with it, but you don't have to call her Alex. I think it is masculine, too. Yet, Alexa is pretty and Lexi is cute as nicknames!!!! So, in conclusion I would choose Alexandra as my first choice and Alixandra as my second!

Congrats on your baby to be!

♥ I like the original spelling - Alexandra... however if you said that Alex was a bit masculine I'm going to assume that means you're having a girl... instead of using Alex use Alexa or Alexi as a nickname! :-)

I happen to prefer Alexandria over Alexandra but either way I like the traditional spellings.

Feminine nicknames?

Ally, Alexa, Lexis, Lexie, Xandy, Zandy, Andie

Any of these will work, it's a beautiful name to start with.

Personally I think Alexandra looks better...but no one says you have to spell the nick-name with an E. How about the traditional spelling for the full name and Alyx as the spelling for the nickname?

The only spelling of Alexandra that I care for is that one. She could have the nickname Alexa or Lexie.

I really prefer the more Eastern European version
Aleksandra, but it appears even more masculine, really.
