Not any more than stright males.
In today's world of AIDS and other STDs, it is EVERYONE'S responsibility to watch out for their own health - by knowing and applying safer sex techniques. Anyone who gets a disease from having consensual sex need only look in the mirror to find the person responsible.

Not to derail the PC train here, but I am informed by my gay friends that while certainly there are monogamous and promiscuous people in both straight and gay camps, in general, the answer is, YES, gay men who are not in long term relationships are much more promiscuous, having quite a bit more casual and anonymous sex than most straight males.
This is not to imply that there aren't lots of straight men and women who do the same, but the culture of anonymous sex is significantly more pronounced within the gay male world. That having been said, they appear to be much more careful about using condoms and being safe about it than most straight people. And the question did sound like it was looking to ignite some kind of gay bashing. Which is not what I'm doing here.

I believe they are. There was a question posted this week where one person complained that gay men are not allowed to donate blood. This isn't done because of any bigotry by the blood bank, but as a general precaution to the safety of the blood supply to protect others who need the product.
I was shocked to read that several gay men openly stated that they lie when they give blood because they object to the restriction. This is irresponsible and does place other innocent people at risk for catching diseases like AIDS.
Anyone who knowingly purgers themselves and does transmits a virus to an innocent person should be charged with voluntary manslaughter.

No, everyone that I know who is gay is committed to someone or looking for a LTR. Funny thing is that when I talk to straight women they'll tell me about their latest sexcapades and how oops they didn't use a condom with the guy they just met at the bar... So I would say let's not point fingers at anyone group, because all are guilty in some way or another, I'm sure... :)

does every lesbian wear a mullet? haha..no. gay men are no more frivelous with who they have sex with than anybody else who has sex. you can't judge an entire population based on a stereotype. are all college students promiscuous? straight high school girls? perhaps a tiny percentage of a population of gay males are promiscuous, but not nearly as much as hollywood exaggerates it. not every gay male is jumping from penis to penis trying to get some, just as not every straight teenage girl is. there's a big difference between what society wants to believe a group is and what reality is
