WEYMOUTH, England -- Swimmers are being warned to stay away from a "sexually aggressive" dolphin that has made its home at a popular tourist resort on the English south coast.

He told the London-based Times newspaper: "This dolphin does get very sexually aggressive. He has already attempted to mate with some divers.

"When dolphins get sexually excited, they try to isolate a swimmer, normally female. They do this by circling around the individual and gradually move them away from the beach, boat or crowd of people."

O'Barry said the dolphin would get very excited and rough before trying to mate with a swimmer, possibly causing them to drown.

OSLO, Aug 17, 1999 (AFP) - A dolphin tried to rape a 28-year-old Norwegian swimmer who had been gambolling with it off the south coast of Norway, the newspaper Verdens Gang reported Tuesday.

The animal, which had been circling around the swimmer, suddenly stuck its penis between his leg and his bathing costume before the man managed to free himself and escape back aboard his nearby boat.

"At first I thought it was pushing me with its flipper but dolphins don't have flippers beneath their bellies," the unidentified swimmer explained.

Another swimmer who witnessed the scene from the boat told the newspaper he had to ward off similar advances from the dolphin a few minutes earlier.

"He tried his luck with me but I was protected by my waterproof suit," that swimmer said.

Nice avatar man. I used to be a pro at that game on PS1. Duke Nukem: Time to Kill.

That dolphin feels really powerful now.

The dolphin is not more "raping" then a dog does when it humps your leg. What the person is doing is anyone's guess. Dolphins do not mate in this manner so I truly have no idea what is going on.
And rape is pretty much domination over the victim.

I would like to know why the other people are just standing around and not trying to help this person.

Maybe I am wrong but it seems like a trick and nothing more otherwise others would of come to his rescue. Atleast I hope they would.

Strange video

To go back to dog behavior for a moment...when dogs hump people's legs, it is a sign of domination over the human, it is not a sexual thing. Even female dogs will hump other dogs as a sign that they are dominant over them.
Perhaps we are misinterpreting this dolphin behavior as something sexual when it is not. It could be a sign of domination as well.
So what is rape again?

There is no doubt that rape is about is about having power over the victim. I have never heard anyone knowledgeable on the subject suggest otherwise. Like someone else said this isn't a human so it isn't relevant to a typical rape scenario.

I just wanna know why you are comparing dolphin behavior to human behavior....

And your "source" is an entertainment site, not an academic one.
