Because, all of the world voted for the wonder of love , Taj Mahal, that's why it is one of the wonders of the world. And it was really very obvious that it will be one of the 7 wonders.
here is some information about taj mahal...
Mausoleum complex on the southern bank of the Yamuna River, outside Agra, India. It was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631. The Taj complex, begun c. 1632, took 22 years to complete. At its centre lies a square garden area bounded by two smaller, oblong sections, one comprising the mausoleum and the other an entrance gateway. The mausoleum, of pure-white marble inlaid with semiprecious stones, is flanked by two red sandstone buildings, a mosque on one side and an identical building for aesthetic balance on the other. It stands on a high marble plinth with a minaret at each corner. It has four identical facades, each with a massive central arch 108 ft (33 m) high, and is surmounted by a bulbous double dome and four domed kiosks. Its interior, with fine, restrained stone decoration, centres on an octagonal chamber containing the marble tombs, enclosed by a perforated marble screen, with sarcophagi below. Regarded as one of the world's most beautiful buildings, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983. Steps have been taken since the late 1990s to reduce air pollution that has damaged the facade of the building.

Taj Mahal is a wonder of the world because it shows the true meaning of love after a loss. Shah Jahan built this tomb for his wife in Agra. Today, many Indians and tourist go visit the marble masterpiece. It attracts many people and it is a beautiful sight. The best time to see the Taj Mahal is on a full moon night. The moon gives a beautiful reflection of light on the Taj. It is amazing.

Taj Mahal is the most beautiful monument. Its stunning architectural beauty is beyond adequate description, particularly at dawn and sunset. The Taj seems to glow in the light of the full moon. On a foggy morning, the visitors experience the Taj as if suspended when viewed from across the Jamuna river.

For it's architectural significance, firstly: it's one of the finest examples of medieval Islamic architecture in India, and perhaps one of the best monuments in the Islamic world. Secondly, for its symbolism, as other answers have suggested. It is one of the most recognizable man-made monumnets in the world. But lastly it is how it is located. If you have visited it, you would realize that it's surrounded by water - the Yamuna river curves around it on one side, with pools on the other - and it provides a beautiful setting, with many reflections. The white marble also means that the Taj appears in many different colours based on the time of day and year, and the angle of sunlight falling on it. In my opinion it truly deserves to be one of the new wonders.

Taj Mahal is good very good but not even close to the wonders of “Pyramids of Giza”. Even today with that much technology it is extremely extremely difficult to made such pyramids.

When i waz a student one of my teachers told me that back then they did not have a lot of machinery and things to measure. Back then the Dome of the Taj Mahal cracked and collapsed a few times and the built it again and again with soo much accuracy so that is why it is considered one of the world's wonder. And the second reason it was built by a Mughal ruler Shah Jehan.

In 1631 Shah Jahan, emperor during the Mughal's period of greatest prosperity, was griefstricken when his second wife, Mumtaz Mahal, died during the birth of their daughter Gauhara Begum, their fourteenth child.
Contemporary court chronicles concerning Shah Jahan's grief form the basis of the love story traditionally held as the inspiration for the Taj Mahal.

Because Shah Jahan built it............
It is a wonder because it took 22+ years to build it,... and so many labourers were employed.
And it is made completely in white marble.
That should be enough for it being a wonder of the world without me telling the story why it was built....................
