I truly believe they are hands down the best band since 1990
They have not sold out and refute against large corporations
They educate people with politics and try to promote a free, noble land
There lyrics are insanely insightful
Eddie Vedder has one of the most amazing voices of all time
Mcready and Ament are true legends behind the guitar and bass
What else can I say except wow what a band....

Yes.. totally and unequivocally, they are the best band around. I love them, and they are the best live. I recently saw them at Wembley Arena, and they were amazing.

You're question is too broad and is to open to interpretation. What does one base the "best band" on? Album sales? Ticket sales? You're personal opinion is based on very personal criteria. What about those that do not agree with Pearl Jams political views? If politics are important couldn't we say that Bono and U2 have been more outspoken and active? Personally I think the Dave Matthews Band has had a better run since 1990 than Pearl Jam. But that's just me.

I don't know if I would say they are the BEST band, because everyone has a different taste in music. BUT they are a F-ING awesome band, and you are right about the way they have held their own within their talent, and intelligence. I often ask people who they think the #1 band from our time will be, kind of like led zeppelin and the beetles are, and someone answered Pearl Jam the other day, and I think it is a great guess!

I like Pearl Jam but don't think they are the best, but hey, great that you think they are! I do like many of their songs.
I think Green Day is an amazing band. They write all their own tunes and have done so many albums. Overall they march to the beat of their own drum and are extremely talented.
There are so many talented artists out there these days but few I would say are truly exceptional.

some people might say Dave Matthews
personally, I really don't like any music after that time so my opinion isnt very valid

No, Ten was an alright album at the time but it's dated. Their other albums really sucked.
