can a home elevator be constructed outside the house in a enclosed shaft that resembles a brick fireplace and chimney that begins in the basement and extends upward to the second floor I was thinking that I could cut the concrete foundation for access in the basement and cut the framing on the first and second floors to access them also.Anybody out there that has expierience in this field please let me know if this is feasable.

I am pretty sure that someone will be able to assist you with this project. My church just had an elevator installed and it was constructed in this manner. I know that you are not looking to install an elevator as big as a church would use but I would think that it would still be able to be constructed in the same manner. Plus, I have a brother in law who is in a wheelchair and we had to get a house at the beach which has an elevator...I was surprised to find that more and more homes are having elevators installed into pre-existing homes at the beach. Good Luck with your endeavors with the elevator.

Cutting home foundations and installing elevators are not DIY projects.
