MLB scouts are all over the place. You need proof, check out how many foreigners are playing.
If you are good enough for a look-see and a minor league contract someone will give you a chance. All MLB teams have tryouts. Go to them, show what you got and hey, you never know.
Good luck, all the best, Jay

If I were you, I would immediately send out video of yourself to every major AND minor league team out there. Obviously, send out highlight video of you playing your college games and pitching, hitting, whatever you do best. That is a way to increase your chances. Also, if you are a lefty pitcher that throws hard, you may have even better chance. I made the mistake of not sending anything to the major league teams because I didn't know any better. Your chances are not great no matter what, but you can increase those chances. Also, my uncle showed up at an "open tryout" when he was 26 years old and Seatlle Mariners actually signed him right there. So that is another thing you should do. Find every possible major and minor league open tryout and go for it. If you are good enough, someone will notice.

It happens all the time. The catcher on my D-III team was drafted by the Royals back in the late 80s.

There are 50 rounds with 30 teams plus any compensation picks between the 1st & 2nd rounds. So there are at a minimum of 1500 players drafted each year. They have to come from somewhere.

Very few go from college directly to MLB. There are many that go the the minor leagues and work their way up to MLB. The bottom line is really very simple, no matter where you come from if you are good enough to be in MLB than you will be there. I don't really know the numbers but I believe there are just as many MLB players that never went to college as there are that did.

Baseball
Approximately three in 50, or about 6.1 percent, of high school senior boys interscholastic baseball players will go on to play men's baseball at a NCAA member institution.

Less than ten in 100, or about 9.4 percent, of NCAA senior male baseball players will get drafted by a Major League Baseball (MLB) team.

Approximately one in 200, or approximately 0.45 percent of high school senior boys playing interscholastic baseball will eventually be drafted by an MLB team.

It all depends on how good you are. I got drafted to the braves minor league teams out of high school. It all depends on what positions they need and how good you are. but its very possible.
