6 3/4 - 2 7/8 =

Convert a mixed number to a improper fraction

Multiply 4 times 6 = 24 then add 3 = 27/8

Multiply 8 times 1 = 16 then add 7 = 23/8

27/4 - 23/ 8 =

The common denominator is 8

27/4. The denominator 4 goes into 8 two (2) times. Then multiply the numerator 27 times 2 equals 54. the improper fraction becomes 54/8.

54/8 - 23/8 =

31/8 =

do u know that u can write 6 3/4 as 27/4. because 6 = 24/4. then u add 24/4 + 3/4 to get 27/4. then, 2 7/8 = 23 / 8.

now u have,
6 3/4 - 2 7/8
=27/4+ 23 / 8.
now u make equal the denominater

=(27 *2)/ (2*2) - 23/8
= 54/8 + 23/8
=77/8

good luck with the test

make the denominators the same: 3/4*2/2=6/8
6 6/8-2 7/8=?
Regroup 6 6/8 so that the the numerator is more than 7 (from 2 7/8)
5 14/8-2 7/8 Subtract

The common denominator between 3/4 and 7/8 is 8. So, turn the 3/4 into 6/8

Now add: 6 6/8 + 2 7/8 = 8 13/8. But, 13/8 = 1 5/8

So, you get 9 5/8

6=24/4
3/4 + 24/4 = 27/4

2=16/8
16/8 + 7/8 = 23/8

27/4 = 54/8

54/8 - 23/8 = 31/8

31/8 = 3 7/8
