do u know that u can write 6 3/4 as 27/4. because 6 = 24/4. then u add 24/4 + 3/4 to get 27/4. then, 2 7/8 = 23 / 8.

now u have,

=27/4+ 23 / 8.
now u make equal the denominater

=(27 *2)/ (2*2) - 23/8
= 54/8 + 23/8
=77/8
