Yeah so i have a Pony League playoff tonight it was kinda retarted cause we were the best team and they drew seeds from a hat so we got the 4th seed and the 2nd best team got the 5th seed so we play first. It's single game elimination and this team were facing has a kid who just shuts people out he is a lefty and i remember he used to have problems pitching but he must have gone to a picthing coach because he is just shutting people out well he has a pretty hard fastball a good curveball and he can throw a slider. Everyone on my team is good we don't have any bad or weak players but the team were facing has like 3 or 4 guys that can't catch a ball or hit and these kids will be playing the outfield. Our pitcher is probably the second best in the league he is about 4 and 1 with a 2.35 Era if anywone has any tips that would be greatly appricated.

As long as we get on We can be agressive because im all county in track and i know when i get on base i got 3rd base no questions asked and we have some other aggresive fast people on the team.

It just comes down to basic baseball, and you seem to know the strong points and weakness of the other team. You are going to have to get a well pitched game from your pitcher and figure out a way to score off of your opponent. Don't help the other pitcher out by swinging at bad pitches. Plan on a 1-0 or 2-1 game and try the unexpected to score some runs. If you get someone on base try to exploit the weakness of the other teams defense and try to run on the pitcher. Try to take the extra base on anything in the outfield and get them to throw the ball around the field. The bottom line is that you have to get the other team out of their comfort zone and get them rattled. Good luck, I hope you win.

I have been a situation like this the pitcher was throwing at least 60 mph all you have to do is use a lighter bat and swing early if he throws a slider or curve it will be slightley slower and could start out of the zone and come in for a strike in an 0-2 count all you have to do is protect anything close especially with a curve keep an eye on it or swing.

Start with this...no matter what his strengths as a pitcher are, he still must throw the ball over the plate. Pick good pitches and put good swings on them and you will generate enough offense to win. Make him and his team earn every out and remind your team to not give them extra outs. At this level, the team that throws and catches the ball the best usually wins the game.

Don't think about how good the other pitcher may be. You and your team has to have a better mentality going into the game. If you enter the game thinking about how good the guy you're facing is, and how dominant he is on the mound, then he will dominate. if you tell yourself that you can hit this guy, as well as the rest of your team, it will help you play better, most likely. Going into a game with that mindset won't help you much. You gotta have confidence in yourself, as well as your teammates. Just go out there and play your hardest and hope for the best. Good luck!

I am 16 now and I look back at the time when I pitched at a younger age. And what I learned is you got to get to know your defense. My team when I was younger made so many errors around me, so I would focus on getting strikeouts. If you have a good defensive team, just throw strikes and remember there are 7 guys behind you. Pitch to benefit errors from happening. And DO NOT get cute. Just throw strikes and get out.
