Sorry, you are wrong; Saturnalia was celebrated December 17. Also, the solstice is two-three days before the 25th, so again, it is NOT the same holiday. The 25th of December was arrived at by using an old Jewish law that mandated that newborn males be circumcised on the eighth day, including birth. Since Jesus never mentioned when His birthday was, the Church gave him what is called a name-day (circumcision day where the name is proclaimed) as January 1st, and counting backwards, the eight day is the 25th of December. Sorry to break your dream of paganizing Christianity. By the way, I have been known to sing Christmas Carols in July. Does that count for celebrating the holiday then?
