Spending money on the military insures that western culture will be preserved. Spending money on environmental causes is a waste. The owners of property already have a stake in keeping what they own clean, there is no reason to subsidize private property owners. Corporate welfare is not a good thing. As to fighting global warming, there is nothing this or any government can do to stop climate change. Climate change has happened as long as the planet has revolved around the sun. Even if we give up all forms of energy production, stop all industrial activity, and kill of 80% of all human who now live, the climate will continue to change. Don't think so? Ask your self this question. What started and what stopped the last ice age? To belive Al Gore and company you would have to think it was Fred Flinstone driving his Chevey Tahoe. You of course know better, right?

Well first you must understand that congress not the president decides what and the amount of the budget goes to each program. The president only negotiates and signs the budget into law.

He probably has enough sense to spend money on real things like fighting terrorists instead of trying to control the natural processes of our planet.

This is no secret...there's a big ideological difference between Republicans and Democrats on funding environmental causes versus funding for our defense.
