The mechanic diagnosis was my water pump went out. He gave a estimate and begun to work on my car . Average time for repairs was 7-10 days.First week he said he had order a defective water pump and had to re-order. Called two weeks later and said pick up the car its running great and that he also went inside my motor to clean oil deposits. He phone me back and said not to pick up car because my oil light wouldnt go out ask me if this ever happened and i said no. He told me to give him a day to check problem. I had already spent 200 on rental cars. Its been almost a month. He said he would give me a loaner car until he fix my car he never did. I called him every week to check on my car he said he dont know whats goin on with my car, but he assured me he will take care of it even if it cause him money. This went on for almost two months until one day i had enough and he never fix my car told me i needed a motor he will take care of it. I spent $900+on rentals and $200 in parts he's got

I had my car towed from his lot and let another mechanic look at it and he was mostly was concerned about the cleaning of the oil deposit he did which could have clogged oil pump screen. He basically left me with a broken vehicle and i'm a single mother with two kids and no car. Can he be held for damages for telling me the job takes 7-10 days and its been almost 2 months?

I had another shop look at car and was told my oil pump is out there is no oil circulating in the motor and may be due to him taken off my top half of my motor. My water pump is located in front of my motor. I found out this mechanic is also in the Military Navy and he's also part owner of the shop

You should have put a stop to this a long time before two months had passed. It doesn't take even 7-10 days to install a water pump unless he has to order it from china, sometimes the parts are defective, but with everything else you said, the guy was either lazy or was taking advantage of you. If you didn't end up paying thousands for the labor he just might have been a really horrible mechanic.
If this happened in the US and you spoke the way you write, no offense but you sound foreign, and some people take advantage of that.
You can contact the Better Business Bureau and let them know whats up, it probably wont do much for what you went through but they'll be able to point you in the right direction as far as your legal rights in a case like this. You might be able to get some you money back for the rental car, then again you might not. Talk to a lawyer about it, and the BBB. This doesn't mean you have the sue the guy but you should talk to someone who knows what your right are in this instance.

It should only take a day or two to replace a water pump. And only a day or two more to get the parts. When a repair shop buys parts they do not order them and have them shipped. They get them from a supplier located locally. And they also should not touch anything that you have not authorized. "Went inside my motor to clean oil deposits" is not quite clear but could mean that he simply changed the oil and let it drain good or could mean the engine was partly take apart to clean something else like the underside of the pistons. Either way your getting screwed.
You can talk to the manager of the shop or the owner which probably won't help. Or you can take the car to another mechanic have them check it out and talk to them. (Take it somewhere reputable). And if they say they thing the mechanic screwed you call a lawyer.

Have you taken it to another mechanic yet? If it's still on his lot I'd call him to let him know he's done enough for your car and it's time to have it taken elsewhere. I'd never let anyone have my car more than a week unless they needed to rebuild the transmission or engine! If he won't release your car it may be time for a lawyer, but save that as a LAST RESORT.

i do no longer see the will for a flywheel or converter except you probably did genuine injury to them yet no longer likely. As for the park , opposite, etc sounds like they only subsidized off the cable adjustment on your shifter linkage and could readjust it back which will take 3 minute yet they are going to cost you for a park they never placed on. continuously ask for the section and have them prepare you the section that desires to get replaced whether you do no longer comprehend what you're gazing. they are going to anticipate you will double examine there paintings and that they gained't attempt and take an great element approximately you. Sorry yet i think of you have been taken for a journey. do no longer propose going back. Chalk it up as lesson found out no longer lots recourse in this one. you are able to attempt to get him to pay for the maintenance yet you will ought to get it repaired first and prepare him the invoice to coach he screwed up your motor vehicle. solid success.

Unfortunately your question makes little sense. The rental is your responsibility, but I'd get the car and take it to a mechanic who isn't a moron.

If you can prove that this guy screwed you over you may be able to recover your expenses in civil court. You should also report him to the Better Business Bureau
