I have the NetGear WGT624 wireless router. The wireless router has lost the wireless passphase I entered I am not able to access the Internet. I tried accessing www.routerlogin.com by entering my username and password, but it won't accept it. I NEED to reset my username and password in www.routerlogin.com. How do I reset my username and password in www.routerlogin.com?

Another question is how do I disable WEP, so I can have access to the Internet to go to www. routerlogin.com?

I greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Scott

You need to login to the router itself with the IP address given in the documentation that came with the router...unless you changed it... then use your user name and password to login and change the settings.

The default is usually Admin with no password.

Hello nylec; You can reset the password to default buy going to the back of unit and using a bent paper clip to insert and hold in for a few seconds..Before going too far it is best to go directly to Netgear's site and enter your model number and look for "Instructions" as they have a printed version that will help. Default is usually " 1 2 3 4" Also, keep in mind that when you plug your router back in make sure there are no connections for a couple of minutes. Must be patient and give it a few minutes to configure before plugging in any components. This is often overlooked and unit will not recognize any changes..Best to wait 2-5 minuets. Good luck tom

reset the router back to new settings by pressing the reset button on the back with a pen, hold it in for a bit and this will reset all the settings and passwords back to the original as new settings and start setting it up again as you did the first time
