I think you mean platform balance. This is a weighing scale where you put the object on a platform at the top, the object pushes the platform down, and you read the weight on a dial or on an LED or LCD display. This is as opposed to a double pan balance, where you put tyhe object on one pan, weights on another, and record what weight is needed to make the two pans swing freely in "the middle."
