Dear Nicole,

Yes, my husband cheated on me with the person I thought was my best friend. They cheated on and off for about 5 years... and I had suspicions at times, but nothing definite showed, until they got so confident, they didn't trouble to hide what they were doing (it turned out that he had never been faithful at any time during our marriage... yes, I was shocked).
Sometimes, the old saying, 'you get what you give' isn't true. In this case, it certainly was not true, and I was wanting a "perfect" marriage so badly that I overlooked way too much.

I had been married for twenty-six years and just couldn't bring myself to believe that he would do such a low thing with someone who claimed she loved me like a sister. Well, dumb me, I was ironing his shirts to send him to work looking like a million dollars and doing her college work so that she could pass her English classes. He never finished college until we divorced and she finished college at about that time, too. They both got teaching degrees. I wondered at the time how long it would take before he was in trouble for "inappropriate behavior" with one of his students. I had my answer in about two years. He couldn't PAY a school board to hire him now. Unfortunately, my daughter's child support is tied to his pay, so we don't get much support from him regularly.

If you are facing this with your husband, I would strongly suggest that you LEAVE NOW. I forgave and forgave. I didn't throw past mistakes in his face. Didn't act the martyr, either. What do I have to show for it today? Two beautiful daughters, one of whom never knew her father because he left when she was five, and many regrets that I wasted all that time on a selfish man who thought only of his sexual gratification with as many partners as possible. I wasted a lot of time and love on him.

Some people are incapable of returning love. They are the ones who keep count, not of anniversaries, but of how many women they have done. My ex was one of those. I didn't deserve him, but he's what I got.

Now, I'm out and not sorry to be out. I have finally regained my self-respect, but it took years and years. I finished college as well and found a good job. I have encouraged my daughters to finish college so that they can support themselves and not be dependant on a man for a good life. Save your future happiness and move on while you are young. I was 47 when my world fell apart, don't be as dumb as I was and hang in there. Once a cheater, always a cheater. You don't deserve that treatment. No one does. Good luck, hon!! :)

That's low to sleep with a woman's friend. Let's take the love equation out of it for a second. The dis respect of allowing your wife to hangout with and smile in the face of this woman all the while this woman and likely other girl friends are laughing behind your wife's back, that's just low.
You never sleep with the wife's GF's I don't care how beautiful they are. You do like most guys and hunt for you food in another county, where there's no connection.

Geesh!
