Hi-
I've extended this question primarily because many people mentioned finance. But I wasn't sure -- do I major in economics and minor in finance, or vice versa?

Accounting and Finance is best. They both include Economics. Then get summer jobs in the finance world to see how it REALLY works.

Economics major is ok, but needs to be backed up with a solid knowledge in Finance

Major in Finance instead, which is more directly related to your goal. Look for higher level math and statistics courses too.
