Help! I'm a homeroom teacher of a class in an all boys school. They are having their class night and set aside part of the night to watch a movie and I'm in charge! :o I want to show them something they will enjoy but will also learn from. They watched Coach Carter last year and they liked it. PG only please! Thanks a lot!

Remember the Titans.... one of the great inspirational films ever, and it shows how racial discrimination can be overcome.

Well, Freedom Writers is rated PG-13, but it has a really good moral to the story about how these inner city kids, who are pretty much in groups of their own races, all come together and become friends with the help of their new teacher. It is a really good movie!

They can watch A Friendship In Vienna. It's perfectly appropriate and it teaches a lesson. It is about to girls who are best friends but are split apart because one of them is Jewish. It's about Nazi's and World War 1. Don't worry it's appropriate. My daughter watched it at school, and ever since has respected all races, and become more responsible.

I liked "Stand By Me" with River Phoenix. Book based on "The Body" written by Stephen King, but the moral of the story is beyond me. If you haven't seen the movie maybe you can watch it and figure out the moral or if you have you probably already know if it has any outstanding moral. It's certainly an entertaining movie in my opinion.

These are not boys but young men especially the 18yr olds. Most sport movies are good about the underdog making it etc. Even a few good war films Hart's War, Casualties of War are good, remember you are trying to reach young men not children.

How about "Rudy?" Its a football movie about a guy who reaches his dreams through hard work even though his size and other obstacles are in his way.
Or if you want something a little more recent, how about "October Skies?" Its a true story about achieving through all obstacles. My husband can watch it over and over.
